Apple TV App Joins PlayStation Media Lineup, November 12

Sony Computer Entertainment have confirmed the rumours with a posting on its PlayStation blog. Apple's TV app is set to join PlayStation consoles in time for next months highly anticipated PlayStation 5 launch :

Enjoy Apple TV+, Apple TV channels, new and popular movies, and personalized, curated recommendations on the Apple TV app. That means users can enjoy Apple Originals like Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, Ted Lasso, and The Morning Show through Apple TV+, subscribe to premium channels, and buy or rent movies and TV shows and access past purchases from Apple. The Apple TV app will also be available on PS4.

The TV app may just be the start with Apple HomeKit integration rumoured to be coming in the coming months. Todays news expands the reach of Apple's TV app to 113 million new potential customers.

Apple TV Adds to Free Line-up of Films Depicting Racial Injustice

Apple have added a number of films depicting black activism, injustice, spirit and triumph, available to stream for free on Apple TV.

These films have been made available within the US for a limited time in partnership with a number of studios following Warner Bros lead earlier this week - making 2020's "Just Mercy" the first title available to view without charge.

Also available to download through the TV app on iOS and macOS, the growing collection of curated films titled "Black in America" includes:

Apple Highlights 'Barrier Breaking Characters' in New TV App Collection

Apple has begun highlighting a number of incredible artists reimagining roles for those with disabilities. The new TV App collection called 'Barrier Breaking Characters' explores the work of Zack Gottsagen, Lauren "Lolo" Spencer and Steve Way along with their roles in "The Peanut Butter Falcon", "Give Me Liberty" and "Ramy".

The three stars also highlight a mix of inspiration, all-time favourites and spotlighted performances; offering a mix of everything from "Attack The Block" and "Twin Peaks" to "Insecure" and "The Devil Wears Prada" to Disney's "High School Musical" and "The Greatest Showman".

The collection also celebrates representation in film, breakthrough moments for characters with disabilities and movies with audio descriptions. 'Barrier Breaking Characters' can be found by navigating to the Browse by Collection area in Watch Now within the TV App.
