Apple Music TV launched earlier today as a 24-hour streaming music video channel available to watch for free via both the Music app and TV app in the US.
The new channel began its broadcast counting down the top 100 all-time most-streamed songs in the US on Apple Music. According to Variety the new service is said to premiere new videos every friday:
It will also have two exclusive video premieres on Friday at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT, Joji’s “777” and Saint Jhn’s “Gorgeous”; the channel will premiere new videos every Friday at that time.
Apple also told Variety of the channels plans this week as its set to celebrate the upcoming release of Bruce Springsteens’s “Letter to You” album and Apple TV+ companion documentary with an “all day Bruce takeover” featuring music-videos, an interview with Apple Music anchor Zane Lowe and a special livestream fan event on October 22nd.
Zane Lowe was a mainstay across MTV Europe for nearly two decades and is best known for his popular MTV Two show 'Gonzo' which aired from 2002-2015. Many including myself will hope to see Lowe have a prominent onscreen role as the new channel expands its content offerings over time.
